NEW PITCH ON TRACK FOR SUMMER OPENING
Yeovil & Sherborne`s new home facility, which is being developed in partnership with South Somerset District Council and England Hockey, is now well in to the mid development stage and on course for a late June / early July opening. The construction company ’Spadeoak’, who developed the London 2012 Olympic Hockey facility, have now completed all the drainage works and have laid the first level surfacing. In addition the pitch kerbing is almost completed and the spectator terracing under construction. With the fencing slowly going up you can get a real feel for the arena and warm up area. Next week should see the base tarmac surface being laid which will be a real construction milestone and it will not be long before the solid structure dug outs will begin to rise from the surface.
The club are gearing up for an exciting future and any persons interested in getting involved in hockey or joining us from another club are welcome to make contact at any time. With 4 ladies teams and 4 men’s teams playing as high as West Premier League 1 to local community hockey we cater for all abilities and newcomers alike. Please just give us a call or check out the web site further and come along to the new seasons training.
