Yeovil Ladies Summer 1st XI have had a fantastic summer season winning both the Mendip District Council Cup and the Mendip Area League. The team have truly excelled on the pitch due to our consistently positive attitude and, most importantly, desire to have fun and enjoy our hockey. Thank you to Di Darch, Mel Coles, Harriet White and Kerry Mullen who were not able to play in the cup final but did a tremendous job in helping propel the team to success.

Yeovil and Sherborne Hockey Club are arranging a hockey taster day for a selection of local primary schools which we have identified to work with for the forthcoming season. This taster day not only encourages young children to participate in sport but gives them an opportunity to try a sport that may not be easily accessible to them. We are also hoping to be able to deliver a Quicksticks training session to any teachers who are interested with an aim to those teachers implementing hockey within their school on a more regular basis. This is an exciting opportunity for the Club to get involved in, these children are the future of Yeovil and Sherborne Hockey Club.

The taster day is to be held on Friday 23rd September 2011, at the Sherborne Girls pitches next to the Oxley Centre from 11am – 3pm and we are looking for members to volunteer to help on the day, especially on the pitch under the guidance of our Level 2 coaches.
