It is with great sadness that Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club has to announce the passing of Graeme McKinnon, one of its long serving members.

Graeme was a stalwart of the Club as both player, umpire and supporter.  He played for the Men’s 2nd team for many years:  He was a former team captain who was the Club’s top goal scorer on many occasions and, having been a qualified umpire for nearly twenty years, had recently put away his stick and was umpiring on most Saturdays throughout the season.

Graeme was married to Alison – a former Ladies 1st team player – and their three children are all members of the Club, the eldest playing in the seniors and the younger two are members of the Academy.

The Club sends Alison and her family its deepest sympathies. Graeme will be terribly missed by his wider hockey family and remembered for a very long time by a great many of us as a team-mate, player, umpire and – most importantly – friend; we are all very grateful for his services over the years to the game of hockey and, in particular, to Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club.
