Senior (Adult) Membership

Senior (Adult) membership is open to players age 18 years or over at 31st August at the start of the hockey season.

Senior (Student) Membership

Senior (Student) membership is open to players aged over 14 years and under 18 at 31st August at the start of the hockey season.

Senior (Student) membership is open to players 18 years or over at 31st August at the start of the hockey season in full-time education.

Junior Membership

Junior membership is open to players aged under-14 years at 31st August at the start of the hockey season.

  • England Hockey permits juniors aged 13 years and older to participate in adult hockey. However, it is Club policy that individual junior members who meet the minimum age requirements laid-down by England Hockey must be deemed capable to play and/or train with senior teams on the recommendation of the Lead/Head Coach.
  • In practice this means that players aged 13 years at 31st August at the start of the hockey season (school year 9) will join a Juniors Under 14 training session unless told otherwise by the Lead/Head Coach. Players aged 14 years and above at 31st August at the start of the hockey season (school year 10) will train and play with senior teams.
  • Under all circumstance the Club’s decision into which age group a junior player will be placed will be final.

Senior (Adult) Associate Membership

Associate membership is open to non-playing umpires and volunteers (age 18 years or over at 31st August at the start of the hockey season).  In addition Associate membership is open to players who can only train or play occasionally for the club due to their personal circumstances with the pre-agreement of the Club Management Committee through the Club Membership Secretary.

  • All occasional players, umpires and volunteers of the club who do not register as full Senior (Adult) or Senior (Student) members must register as Senior (Adult) Associate Members.
  • In exceptional cases Associate Members may attend the appropriate team squad training (the management committee will place a strict limit on the number sessions that an Associate Member may attend in any season according to their circumstances).
  • Associate Members may play in senior matches but cannot take precedent over full Senior or Junior Members.  A limit on the number of senior matches in which associate members can participate each season, and any other conditions, will be determined each year at the Annual General Meeting:  For the 2023/24 season this limit has been set at 6 matches.  Associate members are permitted, and encouraged, to participate fully in Summer hockey activities as well as Masters, Back2 Hockey etc.

Senior (Student) Associate Membership for University Students

Associate Membership is open to students away at university/college who were full Senior (Student) members in the season previous to them going up to university to permit them to train with their home club (with a squad appropriate to their ability) before the start of the academic year, and also during the Christmas/New Year vacation, for £5 per session.
