Seniors Summer 7’s Hockey League starts on Tuesday 16th April at 6.30pm.
The organisation of our Summer 7s league is changing this year in order to be as inclusive and social as possible as we celebrate the Paris Olympics. Yeovil & Sherborne teams will be named after teams taking part in the Olympics and include players of all ages and abilities (Senior Club only – minimum age 14), who would like to take part. It is also an opportunity for past and new members to join us if they wish to. Other clubs and schools will have the opportunity to participate.
Format
7-a-side; squads of around 10 players; with 6 out-field players and a goalkeeper on the pitch at any time (if necessary, goalkeepers may be ‘shared’ between teams); games to consist of two halves of 25 minutes each with a 5 minute interval.
Ladies (Tuesdays) and men’s (Wednesdays) leagues comprising up to 12 teams.
Ladies – Tuesday Evenings.
Start: 16th April 2024
End: 25th June 2024
Games at 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.
Men’s – Wednesday Evenings.
Start: 17th April 2024
End: 26th June 2024
Games at 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm.

For Yeovil & Sherborne members entry fee will be £30 per player paid in advance via a Summer League Event option on Teamo. Players will then be randomly allocated to teams, with 2 or 3 from each training group in each of the teams: This is to mix things up a bit more than usual so we can get to know each other better in the Olympic spirit of excellence, respect and friendship.

Other clubs will be invited to take part as well (entry fee £300 a team) and encouraged to enter teams (Senior Club only – minimum age 14) that include players of all ages and ability drawn from all levels in the club (ie not all from the first team – unless you only have one team!) in the spirit of fair, social, inclusive competition.
