Masters Hockey is the format of hockey where players play in age group sides from Over-35s right through to the Over-80s: Indeed a “group of highly dedicated and athletic hockey players who continue to play their sport at the highest level“. There are a variety of ways to get involved in Masters hockey as a player, depending on your level and the amount of time you have to play.
If you are over 35 and have previously played hockey you are welcome to join our hugely successful Pay & Play Mixed Master’s Hockey Sessions on Thursday evenings. Launched in 2022 the Pay & Play sessions have gone from strength-to-strength with an emphasis on the social side. If you are new to the area this is a great way to get to know fellow hockey players. Players who have returned to the sport on Thursdays have caught the hockey bug again and gone on to represent the club in our Saturday league sides. Whenever possible the club plays friendlies against other clubs and enters masters teams in regional and national competitions.
After a very successful inaugural tournament in 2023 the Yeovil 7-a-side Grand Masters tournament is now a fixture in the Masters summer programme of not to be missed events: click here to find out more.
