We would love to see some of our older junior members helping our younger members either regularly or occasionally depending on what time you have available. If you are interested in getting involved and want to find out more do speak to the Coaches or contact Jo Stevenson, Junior Administrator.
Coaching and Umpiring Opportunities – Junior Leaders
- Junior members aged 13-18 can gain umpiring and coaching qualifications through volunteering at the Club.
- The Club can also provide an opportunity for those taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme to complete the requirements for their volunteering/leadership skill section.
- During the coaching session you will be supporting one of the Lead Coaches who will be there to guide you and help you gain the confidence and experience required. You will never be left on your own and you will be encouraged to ask questions and get involved as much as you feel comfortable with.
- The Under 10 sessions on Saturday mornings are a great environment to start with. However, it might be more practical for U14 girls to help at the U12 session before your own session starts. Your help will be much appreciated by the coaches in whatever session suits you best!
- There will be the opportunity for the junior leaders to get involved in the many junior events held at the club as Umpires, Announcers, Time keepers, Team Managers and Assistant Coaches.
