Back To Hockey is an England Hockey initiative that provides an entry into the sport of field hockey for either newcomers or to former players who have been away from the sport and wish to get back into playing.

Back-to-Hockey is your chance to have a gentle, friendly reintroduction or introduction to hockey in a sociable and informal environment!

Back-to-Hockey sessions are coached sessions where the emphasis is on making friends, learning new skills and most of all having fun! The sessions are aimed at people who have not played hockey before or may not have played for a long period of time.

Back-to-Hockey 2025 – Refresh, Relearn, Replay!

When: Mondays at 7.30 until 8.30 pm.

Starts: 12th May 2025, and runs until 21st July 2025 (excluding bank holidays).

Where:  Artificial Pitch, Yeovil Recreation Centre, Chilton Grove, Yeovil, BA21 4AW

Cost: First session free then £5 per session, or £30 for 9 weeks.

Minimum age: 16 years.

Register:  You must be registered with YSHC on TEAMO.

Pay for Back-to-Hockey:  Via TEAMO.

You will need comfortable clothes to run around in; trainers or astro-boots (no studded football boots); a drink (bottle marked with your name); sanitiser; and a stick if you have one (a stick will provided if not).  It is also recommended that you wear shin pads and a mouth guard/gum shield.
