A small but important change to how consent for displaying names on England Hockey website team sheets is managed, starting from the 2025/2026 season.
Why is England Hockey making this change?
This update is to enhance the functionality and data visibility on England Hockey websites by displaying more complete team sheets and scorer data to:
- Improve the overall experience for players by providing more comprehensive information.
- Enable future features such as top-scorer leaderboards across various competitions.
- Assist league administrators in managing their competitions by offering greater visibility of team sheets and scorers across their divisions.
This decision follows advice from legal and sport specialists, who have indicated this is a beneficial step for all involved.
What’s changing?
From the start of the 2025/2026 season:
- For adult players: Your name will now appear on website team sheets by default, unless you choose to opt out.
- For under 18s: Names will only appear if parental consent has been given through the GMS platform.
- Please note: No other personal data beyond your name will be shared on the website.
What does this mean for you?
If you are happy for your name to appear on the website No action is required: Your name will automatically be included from the start of the 2025/2026 season. If you prefer your name not to appear on the website you will need to opt out via the GMS platform.
To opt out use the steps below, or follow the walkthrough guide:
- Log into GMS.
- On the landing page you will see your profile, you can select your consent choices here.
- For other updates, select My Profile and click on the edit button.
- You can withdraw your consent at any point throughout the season if you change your mind.
Even if you’re happy for your name to appear, it is recommended that you log into GMS before the season starts to ensure all your details are correct and up to date.
Competition Categories
Competition categories have been updated on GMS and are now women, open/men and mixed. When checking your personal information, please ensure you are registered under the correct category.
It is the player’s responsibility to ensure that they are registered in the correct category.
